Grand Ayatollah Nouri referred to his previous trips to the Vatican and meeting with two popes before the current one and added, "Unfortunately, the Islam that has been introduced in Europe is different from true Islam.”

“We must introduce the Islam of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), which always keeps the door of dialogue open and advises on various issues, including human rights, environment, and the rights of other beings.” Ayatollah Nouri added.

Referring to the Pope's position for Western countries, he stressed that world issues should be considered by the Vatican and they should take stances regarding current developments in the world.

Grand Shia jurist Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani pointed out, we stand united with all divine religions and by maintaining our principles and emphasizing commonalities, we can take effective steps in response to political, cultural and moral events. We are able to take meaningful actions against crimes and violations such as oppressing human rights and colonialism, Ayatollah Nouri noted.

At the end of the meeting Grand Ayatollah Nouri maintained, "God willing, this trip will pave the way for greater cooperation of religious leaders and thinkers."
