Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani, a Shia jurist attended the meeting for the Congress of 4,000 martyred clerics entitled "Defending the true Islam and the rule of Islamic values" in which various groups of people and officials of Iran and academia as well as seminary students were present.

The meeting was held in the mosque of Ah-ul-Bayt Center of Jurisprudence in Qom during which Ayatollah Fazel said in a speech, Iranian Islamic Revolution is a Quranic and valuable revolution, and the leader of this great revolution Imam Khomeini was a Shia source of emulation at the apex of Islamic jurisprudence and ijtihad.

He further noted the role of the clergy in the formation of the Islamic Revolution and Iran’s eight-year-long holy defense at war with Iraq must be well explained; because throughout history, the Shia clergy has always protected the Shia school and pure Islam with its own blood and sacrifices.
