Hawzah News Agency – Alia Khan, born in Pakistan, raised in Canada and the United States, is the founder and chairwoman of the Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC), a non-profit organization dedicated to the global growth of the Islamic fashion and design sector. Alia has quickly elevated IFDC to the world’s premier fashion and design (art, architecture, interior design, etc.) organization representing the Islamic economy and its stakeholders. Alia’s objective is to construct a story unlike any other in a creative arena that most would have neglected until long overdue worldwide attention was given to it, partly owing to Alia’s work through IFDC.
Alia experimented with her own fashion designs with a fusion touch. Soon after, she started creating one-of-a-kind fashion shows, events, and media programs, which led to the formation of her own independent media and marketing firm in Los Angeles. Winning high-profile clients like Procter & Gamble and taking the lead on international projects got her a lot of attention.
Her charitable interest in the improvement of poor parts of the Muslim world became a priority when she completed her education. Today, Alia’s charity delivers answers with the assistance of top educators and professionals from across the world who have joined her mission to improve school systems and eliminate hunger through an effective feeding program. Alia discovered amazing artistic and design talent along the road, for whom she has become a promotional voice through IFDC.
Alia got extra training on how to teach the art of success to the kids and teachers of these communities as a consequence of meeting top education and development specialists. She has also used these tactics in her own job, which has convinced her that she must make this available to as many people as possible. Alia now provides a personal development and success program through IFDC that has been dubbed a “life changer” with the assistance of scientists, academics, and professors. She has taught this course at Bradford University’s Namal College, where she is a recurrent guest lecturer and counselor, WIEF Young Leaders Network, MOCAfest, KP Public Schools, and Esmod Fashion Institute, among other locations.
Alia has had the privilege of working with experts from all over the world and is a recognized industry expert and speaker. She has also partnered with top business forums, conferences, and events such as the London School of Economics, World Economic Forum-Tokyo, Women In Leadership Summit, M Powered Summit, World Islamic Economic Forum, Turin Islamic Economic Forum, Bosphorus Summit, Dubai Shopping Festival, MOCA fellows, International Textile Fair, Dubai government’s Halal Initiative, and the Dubai Shopping Festival.
“Fashion has always been a passion of mine,” says Khan.
Alia has also been nominated CEO Magazine’s Business Woman of the Year, Gulf Business News’ Entrepreneur of the Year, and is now ranked among the top 50 Most Influential Women in the Arab World (CEO Magazine/Arabian Business).
