Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - In a meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault on Tuesday, January 31, President Rouhani said France can play an important role in fighting terrorism and maintaining regional peace and stability.
The Iranian leader welcomed Tehran - Paris relations, saying that today grounds are ready for expansion of bilateral ties in all economic, cultural and political areas more than ever.
“THe nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers is an important event in the international scene and of course the message of the deal to the world was more significant than its text,” he said.
Ayrault, for his part, said that Paris is determined to promote cooperation with Tehran in all fields of mutual interest, noting, “I leave Tehran at a time when a new chapter has opened in the two countries ties in all fields.’
Iran and France have boosted cooperation in the economic, cultural and academic spheres, he said.
Appreciating Iran’s positive role in the regional and international developments, he hoped that it will keep up its positive and constructive role in settlement of the regional challenges.
