Hawzah News Agency- the Assembly of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon released a statement on the occasion of the agreement reached between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America.
The text of the statement is as follows:
The Islamic Republic of Iran has proven itself a powerful state, capable of weathering all the crises imposed upon it as a result of the Zionist-American aggression — an aggression that led to the martyrdom of great leaders, including the Martyr Imam, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as well as devastating bombardments that targeted military and civilian infrastructure across Iranian territory. Iran emerged victorious from this war and ultimately forced the United States to submit and accept its terms in an agreement set to be signed in Switzerland in the coming days.
The statement added that the Islamic Republic of Iran insisted the agreement with the United States also include a ceasefire in Lebanon — a matter explicitly mentioned three times within the accord. This demonstrates the sincerity of Iran's commitment to its promises and affirms that Iran is a true friend to Lebanon. This development has consolidated Lebanon's sovereignty; accordingly, the details of the final agreement have been left to the Lebanese to negotiate under conditions of ceasefire, not under the threat of war. The Lebanese must therefore hold firm to their full rights, including a complete withdrawal, a halt to all acts of aggression, the return of the displaced, the release of prisoners, and reconstruction. What attests to Iran's victory through this agreement are the loud cries and wailing within the Zionist regime, the fact that America has abandoned and left them alone, and the reality that the Resistance and Iran have triumphed in this war.
The Assembly went on to declare:
Following this clear victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Axis of Resistance, particularly in Lebanon, we at the Assembly of Muslim Scholars announce:
First: The Assembly of Muslim Scholars extends its highest expressions of gratitude and appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran, to the person of the Guardian of the Affairs of Muslims, His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, to President Masoud Pezeshkian, to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and to all those who contributed to this agreement.
Second: The Assembly of Muslim Scholars thanks the Islamic Resistance for its epic steadfastness in the face of Zionist aggression and regards this victory as the fruit of the struggle of the martyrs, the wounded, and the fighters — to whom, after God Almighty, the credit for this triumph belongs.
Third: The Assembly of Muslim Scholars once again calls on the Lebanese government to seize this opportunity to rectify the errors it has committed, including by mending its relationship with Iran, canceling direct negotiations and returning to indirect talks, and insisting on a complete cessation of hostilities and the realization of the five-point stipulations.
Fourth: The Assembly of Muslim Scholars calls on the Lebanese government to support a national dialogue between itself and the political forces in order to arrive at a unified national stance — one that affirms the efficacy of the "golden triad" of the army, the people, and the Resistance.
Fifth: The Assembly of Muslim Scholars calls on the Islamic Resistance to keep its finger on the trigger and not allow the Zionist enemy to exploit the ceasefire period for military advancement in place of withdrawal, and to prevent any return to the conditions that prevailed prior to the second of March.
