Hawzah News Agency- Abu Mujahid al-Assaf, security chief of Kata'ib Hezbollah, issued the statement marking the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir. He warned that the current phase demands heightened vigilance to thwart what he described as "attempts to sow sedition among the children of this nation," calling on media outlets and relevant institutions to handle security and political files with utmost responsibility.
Al-Assaf clarified that decisions regarding weapons handover or the restructuring of certain armed formations rest exclusively with the competent bodies and must be carried out in a definitive and transparent manner. He noted that multiple interpretations and motives surround such steps.
The senior commander explained that the entities which have begun the process of handing over weapons and headquarters were not part of the Islamic Resistance's ranks in previous years, emphasizing that those decisions bear no relation to the Islamic Resistance factions. He also urged an end to divisive rhetoric, calling for the preservation of unity within the ranks.
"The five Islamic Resistance factions, along with Kata'ib Karbala, will continue their activities and retain their weapons as long as issues of foreign military presence, airspace violations, and breaches of national sovereignty persist," al-Assaf stated.
He concluded unequivocally: "The regulation of arms will come after the realization of our objectives. Handing them over is simply not on the table right now."
