Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a gathering of students, and educators in Khorramabad on the occasion of the Imamate and Wilayat decade, Hojatoleslam Seyyed Ahmadreza Shahrokhi extended his congratulations on the blessed occasions of Eid al-Adha and the Imamate celebrations. He lauded the mass participation of various segments of society, including students, teachers, clerics, and executive officials.
Shahrokhi noted that the International Ghadir Foundation and its secretariat within the education sector facilitated this spiritual assembly, marking the commencement of a series of provincial programs for the Wilayat decade.
"Ghadir is the identity of all Muslims and the hallmark of Shia identity," he affirmed, pointing to narrations from the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) that highlight Ghadir's immense status. He cited Imam Sadiq's (PBUH) teaching that whoever venerates Ghadir and honors it will be greeted by divine angels several times a day, who seek mercy for them.
The Imam of Friday prayers in Khorramabad added that all divine prophets held Ghadir in reverence and glorification, noting that few subjects have drawn such consistent emphasis from God's messengers. This fact alone underscores Ghadir's supreme station in Islamic culture.
Addressing the virtues of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (PBUH), Shahrokhi declared his unparalleled primacy in three domains: knowledge, jihad, and piety. He recounted the Prophet Mohammad's proclamation, "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate," asserting that even during the Imam's withdrawal from political rule, caliphs routinely consulted him on scholarly and judicial matters.
He highlighted that in the arena of holy struggle, Imam Ali (PBUH) stood supreme, with Islamic history witnessing his heroic feats at Badr, Uhud, Khandaq, and Khaybar. In the realm of piety, the Imam remains the perfect model of justice and God-consciousness.
Hojatoleslam Shahrokhi shared Imam Ali's famous declaration that he would rather be dragged over thorns than unjustly snatch a husk of barley from an ant. "This is the pinnacle of piety and justice," the representative said, calling it a vital lesson for all officials and public servants in the Islamic system to vigilantly uphold people's rights in their conduct, relationships, and decisions.
The president of the International Ghadir Foundation highlighted that eminent non-Muslim thinkers, including Christian writers like George Jordac and Shibli Shumail, were captivated by Imam Ali's character, describing him as the embodiment of all virtues.
Turning to regional and international affairs and the necessity of national vigilance, Shahrokhi warned that while Imam Ali (PBUH) triumphed on the battlefield, the Islamic community later suffered from enemy trickery at the negotiating table. He stressed that today, the Iranian nation must remain alert to the ploys and deceptions of its adversaries.
He noted that the Iranian nation continues to endure the damages and fallout from the JCPOA experience. While any war may ultimately conclude with negotiations, he insisted the key issue remains vigilance, the preservation of dignity, and the defense of national interests. He conveyed the people's expectation that negotiators act in a manner befitting the resistance of the nation and the armed forces, and not compromise the rights of the people.
The Friday prayer leader emphasized the resilient spirit of the Iranian people and armed forces, noting that the citizens, particularly the youth of Lorestan, have repeatedly declared their readiness at all levels to defend the Islamic Revolution and the country.
In his concluding remarks, he expressed gratitude for the attendance of students, teachers, cultural figures, clerics, executive managers, and the general public. He emphasized the necessity of broad public participation in the Wilayat and Ghadir programs, stating that presence in these gatherings pleases Imam Ali, the Imam of the Martyrs, and the Supreme Leader, expressing hope that everyone would benefit from the blessings and rewards of these days.
