Hawzah News Agency- the specialized conference "Hajj: The Rendezvous of Unity" was organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, bringing together eleven scholars and thinkers from Iran, Syria, Iraq, Italy, Bahrain, and beyond. During the event, scholars from across the Muslim world and Iran called upon pilgrims to embrace Islamic unity and disavowal of the polytheists, particularly America and Israel.
Hojatoleslam Seyyed Mehdi Ghoreishi, Representative of the Iran’s Supreme Leader in West Azerbaijan Province and Friday Prayer Leader of Urmia:
"At a time when the enemies of Islam have unanimously allied themselves against Muslims, it is our duty to manifest the unity and cohesion displayed during Hajj rituals in all stages of our lives. We hope for the day when Muslims form a single Ummah and we all embody the verse: 'Indeed, this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.'"
Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqqaq, Director of the Bahraini Islamic Seminary in Qom and Representative of Ayatollah Isa Qasim:
"Hajj, Tawaf, and Sa'i are solely for God. The believer performs the Hajj rituals for the monotheism of Almighty God. This monotheism in worship rests on two pillars: an affirmative commitment and a negative commitment, which is the negation of polytheism and partners from Almighty God. Therefore, Hajj points to a monotheistic, divine, and political obligation. Preserving the devotional aspect while abandoning the political dimension—which entails disavowal of the polytheists and global arrogance—is meaningless."
Iman Mohammad Harb, Lebanese Researcher and Religious Preacher:
"Disavowal of the polytheists is among the themes of Hajj that Imam Khomeini emphasized during the Hajj season, so that we may learn how to renounce the Great Satan—which today is embodied in America—just as we declare our disavowal of the accursed Iblis. We declare our disavowal of America, Israel, and their proxies, allies, and supporters, so that the Hajj rituals may become an embodiment of Islamic unity and we may all stand in a single rank against arrogance."
Seyyed Abdullah Isqaf, Professor of West Asian Studies in Indonesia:
"Hajj teaches resistance. Islam does not encourage passive acceptance of oppression. The history of the prophets bears witness to a continuous struggle against tyranny. Therefore, a true understanding of Hajj must lead to a moral commitment to the oppressed and the marginalized. We live in a world plagued by war, poverty, economic inequality, Islamophobia, moral crisis, and cultural domination. In this context, Hajj offers vital lessons."
Mamousta Dr. Abdulsalam Emami, Friday Prayer Leader of Mahabad:
"The crimes in Gaza and the martyrdom of over seventy-two thousand people, the wars in Sudan, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Lebanon, and most importantly, the imposed Ramadan War and the aggression of the Zionist regime and the predatory America against Islamic Iran, alongside the martyrdom of the great Mujahid of the Islamic world and the greatest caller to unity and dignity of the Islamic Ummah, the Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, and thousands of other martyrs, demonstrate that the philosophy of Hajj has not been observed as it should be. The performance of the Hajj obligation today, given the conditions of time and place and the restrictions imposed, has proven incapable of resolving the problems of the Islamic world, its role confined merely to the performance of its rituals."
Mawlawi Abdul Raouf Tawana, Head of the Shahid Tawana Foundation of Afghanistan:
"We need a Hajj that can revive the spirit of monotheism, restore the dignity of Muslims, bring Islamic nations closer to one another, and unite them against their enemies. Hajj can serve as a balm for the wounds of the Islamic world and a bridge to rebuilding Islamic dignity, authority, and identity—provided that Muslims grasp the true philosophy of this divine obligation and harness its immense capacity for the realization of unity, awakening, and a new Islamic civilization."
Dr. Howeida Jabbak, Physician and Cultural Activist from Italy:
"The days of Hajj are days of convergence for nations, races, ethnicities, and cultures—the liberation of souls from servitude to mankind, the humbling of arrogant and prideful egos, the purification of spirits, and the return to one's Creator without any attachment to worldly matters. We call for an examination of the state of Hajj and the formulation of effective initiatives by Islamic countries for their practical implementation, thereby facilitating the performance of this great religious obligation. For Hajj is also a time for meeting, dialogue, and the exchange of views. It is the site of the largest global gathering, where people of every class and denomination assemble under the banner of 'Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika La Sharika Laka Labbaik, Innal Hamda wan-Ni'mata Laka wal-Mulk, La Sharika Lak.'"
Muna Adib, Instructor and Cultural Activist from Iraq:
"Today, the Islamic world is suffering severe blows due to its neglect of this immense divine capital, to the extent that Islamic societies have assumed a critical and destructive state. Regrettably, the Islamic world today suffers from heedlessness of God, indifference to the fate of the Islamic Ummah, and unconsciousness in the face of the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam and Muslims. The focus of global arrogance is the creation of divisions and conflicts among Muslims. For this very reason, God made 'disavowal of the polytheists' a part of Hajj and one of its fundamental pillars. 'And an announcement from God and His Messenger to the people on the day of the Greater Hajj that God is free from the polytheists, and so is His Messenger.' It is incumbent upon nations to declare their disavowal of the enemies of the Islamic world—the child-killing America and the bloodthirsty Israel."
Halimah Sa'diyah, Indonesian Cultural Activist:
"Today, a Hajj without support for Palestine is an incomplete Hajj. Which pilgrim can stand on Arafat and seek forgiveness for himself while the blood of Gaza's children cries out to the heavens? Let us turn this sacred journey into a covenant of unity: disavowal of the polytheists and the Party of Satan, abandonment of indecency, disobedience, and futile disputes within our own ranks, unity of all Mujahideen from every group and nationality within the Axis of Resistance, and ultimately, acting upon the verse: 'And hold firmly to the rope of God, all together, and do not become divided.'"
Marie al-Ali, Cultural Activist from Syria:
"Hajj contributes to the formation of a collective consciousness within the Islamic Ummah. It does so in such a way that a Muslim feels the issues of Muslims anywhere in the world are part of their human and moral responsibility. Hence, Hajj is not merely an individual act of worship but an annual declaration of the unity and civilizational cohesion of Muslims and a global message emphasizing that Islam is the religion of convergence, peace, and human justice. At a time when the discourse of Islamophobia is intensifying globally, Hajj remains a living testimony to the spiritual and human power of Islam and proof of the truth that Muslims, however different their homelands, colors, and languages, constitute a single Ummah capable of cohesion and defending its identity and values against campaigns of distortion and hatred. Hajj will always remain a symbol of the unity of the Islamic Ummah and a global platform annually proclaiming that Islam is the religion of mercy, unity, and peace."
Hojatoleslam Abdul Reza Pourzahabi, Representative of the Iran's Supreme Leader in Kurdistan:
"Today, the Islamic Ummah needs unity, awakening, and insight more than ever. The enemies of Islam are working with all their might in the arena of sowing division and creating discord. Under such circumstances, harnessing the immense capacity of Hajj for deepening unity and spreading the culture of proximity is a strategic necessity. Undoubtedly, if the Islamic Ummah relies on its commonalities and clings to the rope of God, it can, with spiritual authority and ever-greater solidarity, stand against the divisive conspiracies of the enemies and step toward dignity, progress, and elevation."
