Hawzah News Agency- Alireza Rashidian, head of Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, made the remarks on Saturday during a send-off ceremony for the first group of pilgrims departing for the holy land, held at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran.
"We thank God that after extensive planning to provide services to the pilgrims, we are witnessing the departure of the first group today," Rashidian said, adding that remaining flights will be operational in the coming days as caravans set off on this spiritual journey.
Pilgrimage of dignity, security
The Hajj chief said all preparations have been made to ensure a journey marked by dignity and security, pledging that the memory and guidance of the late Leader—whom staff and pilgrims had met in previous years—would serve as the blueprint for this year's pilgrimage.
"Organizing Hajj and serving the pilgrims is a divine privilege," Rashidian said. "With greater effort and comprehensive planning, the necessary groundwork has been laid for the pilgrims' presence and service delivery."
Messengers of unity amid a fractured world
Underscoring the broader mission of the Iranian pilgrims, he declared: "Today the Muslim Ummah needs unity more than ever, and Iranian pilgrims are the bearers of the message of unity, friendship, and peace among the Ummah."
He urged pilgrims to observe discipline and respect the laws of the host country, expressing hope that they experience a pilgrimage of dignity, tranquility, and lasting spiritual inspiration.
The first group of Hajj pilgrims for the year 2026 departed Tehran for Medina aboard an Iran Air flight.
