Hawzah News Agency- According to reports, Maulana Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani, a leading Sunni scholar based in Lucknow, traveled to New Delhi to meet with Hojatoleslam Abdolmajid Hakimollahi, the representative of Iran’s leadership in India, at Iran’s cultural center.
The meeting, which lasted approximately two hours, focused on shared concerns, challenges facing the Muslim world, and ongoing global developments. During the talks, Nomani expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Iran’s top leader, extending condolences and affirming full solidarity with the Iranian nation and its leadership. He also provided financial assistance as a practical gesture of support under current circumstances.
Widely regarded as an influential Sunni figure in the subcontinent, Nomani is known for advocating unity and promoting closer ties among different Islamic traditions. His move has been seen as a positive and encouraging step, drawing attention beyond India and across the wider Muslim world.
In his remarks, Nomani stressed that the current struggle is not limited to a single country or sect, but represents a broader confrontation between justice and injustice. He called on Muslims worldwide to stand united against what he described as acts of aggression and oppression by the United States and Israel.
He further noted that major global powers are in decline, while oppressed nations are moving toward the creation of a new, more just international order. Urging Arab and Muslim countries to recognize the seriousness of the moment, he called on them to stand firmly on the side of justice.
Concluding his remarks, the Sunni scholar praised the Iranian people and leadership, emphasizing that the resilience of Iran’s leadership stems from public support, and that such unity could help shape a more stable and hopeful future for the Muslim world.
The development has been widely viewed as a clear signal of cross-sect unity and broader solidarity in support of nations facing external pressure.
