Pakistani Scholars Hold ‘Defense of the Ummah’ Conference, Urge Unity and Support for Resistance

Prominent Pakistani religious scholars have underscored the necessity of unity across the Muslim world and voiced strong support for resistance movements during the “Defense of the Ummah” conference held in Iran.

Hawzah News Agency- The event was organized by the Assembly of Pakistani Scholars at the Quds Hall of the Imam Khomeini Complex in the holy city of Qom.

Participants emphasized that strengthening unity within the Islamic Ummah, along with providing moral and political backing to resistance groups, remains a pressing priority. They also stressed the importance of standing firmly against oppression and occupation.

On the sidelines of the conference, scholars reaffirmed their commitment to the path and ideals of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, highlighting the need to preserve and promote his ideological framework while continuing the legacy of resistance martyrs.

Speaking at the gathering, Pakistani cleric Seyyed Morteza Razavi said the salvation of the Muslim Ummah depends on unity, awareness, and steadfastness. He called for setting aside internal divisions and fostering greater religious coexistence and convergence, particularly within Pakistan.

Another speaker, Ghulam Mohammad Shakiri from the Gilgit-Baltistan region, described resistance martyrs as “beacons guiding the Muslim Ummah,” stressing that neutrality in the face of injustice is unacceptable and that scholars bear responsibility for guiding society.

Pakistani cleric Seyyed Hassan Razavi also highlighted that resolving crises in the Muslim world requires unity, awareness, and resilience, calling for a unified stance against Zionism and global arrogance.

Meanwhile, preacher Ehsan Danesh, citing the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, said true Muslims are those who show compassion among themselves while remaining firm against enemies of Islam. He added that any cooperation with oppressive powers contradicts the interests of the Islamic Ummah.

Danesh Nadeem Mohammadi, representing Pakistani students at the Al-Mustafa International University, emphasized the need for scholars and students to confront modern intellectual challenges through deep academic research. He also urged the younger generation to model their identity on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt, presenting a balanced and authentic image of Islam to the world.

Researcher Mohammad Latif Motahhari called on the Muslim Ummah to move beyond rhetoric, urging practical action in support of oppressed nations, particularly across the Islamic world.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants highlighted the significance of such gatherings in promoting intellectual convergence and shaping shared strategies among Muslims, stressing that unity, support for the oppressed, and collective resistance against injustice are more crucial now than ever.
