Yemeni Deputy FM: US Partnering with Israeli Enemy in 'New Middle East' Project

Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahab Abu Ras said Sunday that recent remarks by the US ambassador to the Israeli enemy reflect a full partnership between Washington and the Zionist entity in advancing the so-called “New Middle East” and “Greater Israel” projects.

Hawzah News Agency- Abu Ras stated that the comments made by US Ambassador Mike Huckabee to the Israeli enemy expose the true nature of plans aimed at imposing hegemony over the Arab and Islamic region. He stressed that “conscious voices” had long recognized the expansionist objectives behind such initiatives, noting that regional efforts were underway to confront and obstruct schemes designed to subjugate nations and plunder their resources.

He called on regional governments to move beyond statements of condemnation and adopt effective and practical measures to counter the project, warning that the ongoing military and political mobilization in the region falls within the framework of its implementation.

Abu Ras reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfast position, “leadership and people'', in confronting the Zionist project and its arms, represented by the United States and the Israeli enemy, asserting that peoples of the region would remain a decisive factor in the conflict regardless of the scale of challenges.

Separately, Mohammed al-Farah, member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, said the US ambassador’s remarks were not a slip of the tongue but a clear declaration of entrenched priorities within what he described as the Zionist project and its foremost backers, particularly Washington and the Israeli enemy.

Al-Farah warned that the trajectory of escalation—beginning with the draining of resistance movements and extending toward broader regional confrontation—confirms earlier warnings issued by the movement’s leadership regarding expansionist ambitions.

The reaction followed an interview aired Friday in which US Ambassador to the Israeli enemy Mike Huckabee addressed the idea of the regime’s expansion across West Asia under the so-called “Greater Israel vision''.

Speaking to journalist Tucker Carlson, Huckabee said, “It would be fine if they took it all'', when asked about the regime’s oft-cited ambition to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. He referenced what he called the biblical “promised land” in defending expansionist claims.

When pressed on whether he supported the entity’s takeover of the entire West Asia region, Huckabee replied that the regime was not seeking to “take it over'', but added that if it were attacked and won a war resulting in territorial gains, “that’s a whole other discussion''.

The concept of “Greater Israel” envisions borders stretching from the Euphrates River in Iraq to the Nile River in Egypt, encompassing present-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and parts of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt.

Israeli enemy Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously promoted similar expansionist ideas. In a 2025 television interview, he described adherence to the vision as a “historic and spiritual mission,” affirming attachment to what he called the “Promised Land''.

Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has also stirred controversy over related remarks. In 2023, he appeared at an event displaying a map that incorporated Palestinian territories and parts of neighboring Arab states into the occupied territories. This week, Smotrich called for “encouraging” Palestinians to leave the land and demanded a formal end to the Oslo Accords signed in the 1990s between the regime and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
