Al-Kafeel Museum reveals a rare piece of Kerman carpet

The Kafeel Museum of Rare Manuscripts and Antiquities, affiliated with the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, unveiled a rare Kerman carpet, handwoven with precision from cotton and wool threads, coinciding with the International Day of Islamic Art.

Hawzah News Agency- The carpet is considered one of the museum's most prominent artefacts, classified among the luxurious textiles preserved in a controlled environment that takes into account temperature and humidity, to ensure the preservation of its colours and original texture for as long as possible.

The assistant head of the museum department, Dr. Shawqi Al-Moussawi, said: "The Kafeel Museum, on the International Day of Islamic Arts, reaffirms its pride in the cultural heritage that represents one of the pillars of human civilisation, with its deep spiritual and aesthetic significance and its extensive history in art, thought, and philosophy''.

He added that "Islamic arts form a comprehensive knowledge system, manifested in architecture, decoration, and applied arts''.

Al-Moussawi continued, "The museum highlights the importance of Islamic arts as a memory that preserves cultural identity, and as a scientific resource relied upon in academic studies related to history, archaeology, heritage preservation, and museum sciences''.
