Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) — A Symbol of Resistance and Defender of Divine Leadership

A seminary scholar described Hazrat Fatima Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her) as a lasting model of a mujahid woman who rose to defend divine truth and leadership through patience, steadfastness, and confrontation.

Speaking to Hawzah News Agency, researcher Azam Abul-Hasan Iraqi said that, according to historical and hadith sources, Hazrat Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her) was the first leading figure in the Islamic community to openly oppose the establishment of an illegitimate government after the Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Her) demise. Her stand, he noted, was not personal but rooted in the defense of divine succession and the principle of Imamate.

She added that Hazrat Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her) engaged in a theological and political jihad against deviation from the rightful path by delivering powerful sermons, citing Quranic verses, and refusing allegiance to the usurping authority.

Referring to verse 200 of Surah Al-Imran, he said Hazrat Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her) embodied the three levels of resistance — patience, persistence, and steadfastness — through her endurance, active defense of truth, and unwavering protection of the guardianship.

Abul-Hasan Iraqi concluded that Hazrat Zahra’s (Peace Be Upon Her) movement was a continuation of the Prophet’s (PBUH) jihad in preserving the purity of Islam and stands as an eternal symbol of resistance in the defense of divine succession.
