Hawzah News Agency- In a message read by Kadir Dinç, Deputy Head of the organization, at the opening of the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference, Dr. Ali Erbaş conveyed the greetings of the Turkish people to the participants and expressed appreciation for Hojatoleslam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
Erbaş underlined that, as the Palestinian people endure horrific crimes, the necessity of Islamic solidarity is felt more than ever. He noted that gatherings of scholars at conferences such as this one serve as effective bridges for building empathy and strengthening unity among Muslims.
He further emphasized that mercy is a central principle of Islam, rooted in both individual and social life, and warned against divisions within the Islamic world. “Muslims who should stand united, unfortunately, accuse each other of takfir. God has warned that if you quarrel, you will be defeated. Today’s calamities and killings are the result of disunity in the Muslim nation,” he stated.
Erbaş stressed that the suffering of Palestine has deeply wounded the hearts of Muslims and said such summits should go beyond symbolism to reinforce the spirit and determination of the Islamic Ummah. “Muslims have never needed solidarity more than today, and this responsibility weighs heavily on all of us,” he concluded.
