2,800 Contestants Set for Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition 2025

The preliminary rounds of the 33rd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition for the year 1446 AH / 2025 AD will begin on Monday, with the participation of about 2,800 male and female contestants. The organizing committee will visit 25 centers across the Sultanate of Oman’s governorates.

Hawzah News Agency- The qualifying round will begin at the Jalan Bani Bu Hassan Center, with the remaining centers to be completed according to the approved plan. The competition, which is currently organized by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science, includes seven levels: Level 1 (memorizing the entire Holy Quran), Level 2 (memorizing twenty-four consecutive parts), Level 3 (memorizing eighteen consecutive parts), Level 4 (memorizing twelve consecutive parts, and the applicant must have been born in 2000 or later), Level 5 (memorizing six consecutive parts, and the applicant must have been born in 2011 or later), Level 6 (memorizing four consecutive parts, and the applicant must have been born in 2015 or later), and Level 7 (memorizing two consecutive parts, and the applicant must have been born in 2018 or later). It is noteworthy that registration for the 33rd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition continued from May 3 to July 17.

The competition aims to instill spiritual values, develop Quranic skills, and encourage competition among participants, reflecting the interest in the Holy Quran and nurturing young people and those gifted in its memorization.
