Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev on Tuesday evening, Rezaei described the U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran as a violation of all international laws, saying the Islamic Republic has powerfully defended itself against the war.
The SNSC secretary said Iran's conditions have been conveyed to Washington, but Trump is incapable of making a decision, and the United States, in desperation, has resorted to an aerial blockade after failing in its military campaign.
Rezaei noted that many foreign powers have come and gone throughout the region's history, but Iran and the nations of the region have endured.
The two sides discussed expanding economic cooperation, particularly in the energy and mining sectors, accelerating the implementation of the Aras Corridor project, and strengthening ties among neighboring countries.
Rezaei also expressed Iran's readiness to help establish peace in the Caucasus region, stating that the United States has no future in the region and that Iran stands firmly against it.
Mustafayev, for his part, highlighted the historical and cultural ties between Iran and Azerbaijan, describing the Azerbaijani president's position during the 40-day war — calling for an end to hostilities and the establishment of peace — as a sign of warm relations between the two countries.
Mustafayev called Iran a friend and brotherly nation of Azerbaijan and rejected speculation about the use of Azerbaijani territory against Iran.
The meeting also focused on agreed-upon economic projects between the two countries, including the Aras Corridor, cooperation in water and energy, border security, and combating smuggling of goods and narcotics.
The Azerbaijani deputy prime minister also called for Iran to play a positive role in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
