Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Abbas Kabi, a member of Iran’s Assembly of Leadership Experts, in an interview with Hawzah News correspondent in Mashhad, pointed out the strategic position of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and explained the unique role of the seminaries in realizing this revolution, adding,” The late Imam Khomeini (RA) designed the Islamic Revolution to realize the sovereignty of Islam and achieve a righteous life. Now, after forty-six years, the Islamic Revolution has been able to change the equations of power in the East and West of the world and has emerged as a regional and international power. This revolution has changed the equations of global power by challenging the hegemony of the US.”
He continued to say that in order to consolidate and elevate its civilizational movement, the Islamic Revolution needs a deepening and civilizational perspective based on ijtihad and the requirements of the time; “In this field, the seminaries play the most important role. The seminaries can explain and strengthen the civilizational depth of the Islamic Revolution in various fields.” He added.
Ayatollah Kabi also pointed out the numerous capacities of the seminaries and said,” A seminarian can not only be a thinker and religious authority, but can also become a scientist in fields such as nuclear science and modern technologies through scientific education. According to Islamic narrations, the value of science and scholars is to the extent that “The ink of scholars is holier than the blood of martyrs", emphasizing the value of knowledge and scholarship in Islam, often attributed to Prophet Muhammad.
Referring to the epistemological and ideological foundations of the Islamic Revolution, this member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts further noted, "Advancing the modern Islamic civilization is not possible except by relying on science, dynamic ijtihad, and meeting the needs of the time. Seminaries should be the source of growth and development of society in various dimensions by reinterpreting Islamic civilization and producing religious knowledge at all levels."
