A member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries said,” We believe that the power of independent nations and governments is a huge power and by planning and building new institutions, this power can be used to serve human interests.”

Hawzah News Agency- the Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi met with the Vice Chairman of the Federation Council and the head of the Academy of Sciences of this country as part of his trip to Russia.

Ayatollah Arafi and the Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Konstantin Kasachev emphasized on strengthening bilateral cooperation, including the role of legislative institutions in the development of relations between Tehran and Moscow.

The Vice President of the Council of the Russian Federation, whose body in the political structure of this country is responsible for reviewing the resolutions of the Parliament (State Duma), hosted Ayatollah Arafi in Moscow on Wednesday, July 24.

In this meeting, Kasachev once again expressed his sympathy for the martyrdom of the Islamic Republic of Iran's President Raisi, and by congratulating on the successful holding of the presidential elections in Iran, he expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will develop during the presidency of Dr. Pezeshkian.

In this meeting, the member of Iran’s Guardian Council emphasized the importance of the development of Tehran-Moscow relations in bilateral, multilateral and international dimensions, saying,” the legislative bodies of the two countries have an important responsibility in removing obstacles to bilateral interactions, and most importantly, the private sector in Iran and Russia can be very effective in this regard.”

In this meeting, which was attended by Iran’s ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, Ayatollah Arafi referred to the unilateral sanctions of the West against Iran and Russia, saying,” Our statement is to condemn the double standards in the world. The West is causing trouble in the path of development of Iran, which has a religious democracy, while some countries without democracy are approved and allied by the Western powers.”

In another part of his speech, the head of Iran’s Seminary appreciated the Russian government and people for their sympathy following the martyrdom of the Iranian president, and stated,” Tehran's determination is to sign and pursue the comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two countries, and we believe that bilateral agreements has an effective role in deepening relations.
