Centenary of Re-Establishment of Qom Seminary to be commemorated in May

The Head of Iran’s seminaries announced that in May, a conference will be held to mark the centenary of re-establishment of Qom Seminary; a seminary whose history dates back to 12 centuries ago and has found significant differences from other academic centers in Iran and the region since the second century AH.

Hawzah News Agency- Head of Iran’s seminaries Ayatollah Alireza Arafi on Monday, April 15, in a meeting with the vice chairman of the board of directors of the Iranian Telecommunications Company stated,” Telecommunications organizations often play an infrastructural and fundamental role in the progress and development of countries.”

The Head of Iran’s seminaries stated,” Qom province not only holds a key national position, but also a global position, this city is truly a pioneer in Iran in many aspects, since it is considered a hub for thought and knowledge and has played a significant role in the developments of the past century in Iran, the region, and the world.”

Ayatollah Arafi further noted that Qom is not only known as one of the key scientific and religious centers in Iran, but it also holds key position in terms of its global influence; “its influence begins with fundamental and intellectual ideas and naturally affects other aspects as well.” He added.

The Friday prayer Imam of Qom stated,” In May, a conference will be held to mark the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of Qom Seminary; a seminary whose history dates back to 12 centuries ago and has had significant differences from other academic centers in Iran and the region since the second century AH.”

Stating that the re-establishment of the seminary in the post-Islamic Revolution era has led to remarkable progress, Ayatollah Arafi reiterated,” Messages from the Supreme Leader and the highest Shia authorities will be presented at the conference to mark the centenary of the re-establishment of Qom Seminary.”
