Hawzah News Agency- Hormozgan Governor Mehdi Dousti, through a message, congratulated all Iranians and the zealous people of Hormozgan Province, the true guardians of the Persian Gulf, on the National Day of the Persian Gulf.
The text of Hormozgan governor's message reads:
The Persian Gulf is our home, and the National Day of the Persian Gulf is the love song of Iran and Iranians, an eternal song that comes from the souls of Iranian generations, whether it is with knowledge, poetry, sometimes with poetry and music, with rituals and myths, and it inevitably touches the lives of the world.
This is our history, culture, identity, and zeal, which has thwarted and grounded the forgers of geography including the aggressors.
This year, we are celebrating the National Day of the Persian Gulf while the brave men of April 21, 1622, the great day of liberating Hormuz from the aggressors, have resonated in history with the epic of April 14, 2024, so that the world remembers that Iranian lions have always crushed the claws of demons.
I congratulate all Iranians, the national day of the Persian Gulf, the day of authority and victory over the aggressors, and congratulations to you honorable and zealous people of Hormozgan, who are the real guardians of the Persian Gulf.
Mahdi Dousti
It should be noted that Persian Gulf National Day is an official holiday in Iran observed on the 10th day of Ordibehesht, the second month in the Iranian calendar. This usually coincides with 29 or 30 April of the Gregorian calendar. The purpose of this holiday is to celebrate the history, name, and significance of the Persian Gulf. The holiday commemorates the day that forces of the Safavid Empire captured Hormuz and expelled the Portuguese from the Strait of Hormuz.
