Hawzah News Agency- Senior Shia scholar Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani had a meeting with the head of Iran’s Tax Organization in Qom on Friday, April 19, during which he stated that the people should be justified in relation to the role of taxes in the development of the country and added,” People should understand that the taxes they pay are spent in the country and not for any other purposes.”
This Shia source of emulation further noted that taxes should be collected from people's income as well as the income from economic activities.
The grand Ayatollah also added that Iran’s material resources such as oil and natural gas should not be used for current expenses, because these resources are considered the country's capital and they should be used in more crucial ways in order to boost the growth and prosperity of the country as much as possible.
