The delegation of Seminaries in the Vatican met with the officials of the Synod of Eastern Churches.

Hawzah News Agency- the delegation of seminaries during their trip to the Vatican met with the officials of the Council of Eastern Churches on Sunday, February 13.

In this meeting, where the deputy of the Eastern Vatican Church and the head of the interfaith dialogue department were present at the site of the East Vatican churches, the deputy of the group welcomed the seminary delegation and recalled the meeting of Ayatollah Alireza Arafi with Pope Francis at the Vatican last year; He expressed that the teachings and symbols of Shia have always been respected by him.”

He said,” We are worried about the spread of tension in the world, and although the root of these tensions is mainly political, religious leaders also have their duties and responsibilities in this regard.”

He pointed to the concepts of mercy, kindness and ethics in Shia Islam and considered awaiting as one of the commonalities of Shia and Christianity.

He considered global challenges to be common and called for the cooperation of religious institutions to solve contemporary challenges.

In this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Hosseini Kouhsari, vice president of seminaries' communications and international affairs, while thanking the growing process of interaction between the seminaries and the Vatican, presented a report on the latest status of seminaries, especially the religious approaches of the seminaries.

He further elaborated on the commonalities of seminaries and Christianity, especially Catholicism, and considered the basic solution for de-escalation to be rationality, spirituality and the culture of dealing with the main roots of de-escalation, and introduced the security of people as the priority of religions.

The Vice President of International Communications of Seminaries also considered the situation of religious minorities in Iran to be favorable and presented a report on the situation of some Muslim and Shia minorities in other countries and considered the situation of Muslims in Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen and Nigeria to be worrying and called for a greater role of religious leaders in challenges related to religious minorities.
