Ayat. Sobhani

Pointing out that a useful book should solve a problem, Grand Ayatollah Sobhani said,” In the past, scholars wrote a book to fill a void in society.”

Hawzah News Agency- Senior Shia scholar Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani stated at the 25th Seminary Year Book Conference and the 7th Seminary Scientific Articles Festival held in the conference hall of Dar al-Shafa Seminary School in Qom on Sunday, February 4,” There have been several civilizations in human history and the works of previous civilizations have been passed on to the next generations; if mankind has tried to preserve its civilizations, it has used pen and paper.”

This Shia source of emulation further stated that God has sworn by the pen and what the pen writes on, saying,” Islam attributes great importance to the pen. It is said in hadiths that the sound of pen on paper, the sound of Mujahid's shoes on the battlefield, and the sound of pious women spinning yarn are desirable to God, almighty.”

Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani also noted that if it were not for the writings of Imam Sadiq's students, knowledge would not have been transmitted to primary and secondary societies, and clarified,” Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) and Amirul Momineen (PBUH) were the first in writing, and this is an honor for Shiism.”

Pointing out that a useful book should solve a problem and answer to a true need in the society, he said,” In the past, scholars wrote a book to fill a void in society; hence books should not be repetitive.”

Senior scholar Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani concluded by saying,” There should be a reference point for answers to questions in the Islamic seminary, and we should defend Shiism in an efficient way with our works.”
