Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the head of Iran’s Seminary, met and talked with Mr. Mohammad Shia Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq during his trip to Iraq.

Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the head of Iran’s Seminary, met and talked with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, during his trip to Iraq.

At the beginning of this meeting, Ayatollah Arafi honored the martyrs of the Islamic resistance and honored the authority of the Najaf Seminary, saying,” I have been familiar with Martyr Sadr since I was a teenager and was raised with admiration for his character, and I have been associated with Iraqi personalities and seminaries for a long time, and I have lived through the pains and sufferings of Iraq and Najaf seminary.”

Ayatollah Arafi praised the improvement of the economic, political and security of Iraq and described Iran-Iraq relations as historical, emotional, intellectual, political and economic relations.

The director of Iran’s Islamic seminaries further pointed out that Iran and Iraq have shared a common history for many centuries and presented the relations in recent years, especially after the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as a source of pride and happiness.

He assessed his meetings with scholars and Shia sources of emulation of Najaf seminary during this trip worthwhile and positive and considered the interaction between Qom and Najaf seminaries as historic and necessary and added,” Today, the importance of interaction between the two seminaries has become more evident.”

In this meeting, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq, while welcoming Ayatollah Arafi and his accompanying delegation, prayed to God Almighty for success and growing relations between the two countries.

He considered the relations between the two countries to be multilateral relations in political, economic and religious dimensions, and in addition to the historical relations, he considered the future of two countries to be related to each other.

The Iraqi Prime Minister further added,” We are on a common front with Iran and we feel close to the Islamic Republic since the Islamic Republic of Iran is an inspiration to all the free people of the world.”
