Hawzah News Agency- Senior Shia scholar Ayatollah Saeedi, in his Friday prayer sermon held in the Quds Mausoleum in Qom on July 29, referred to the beginning of the Muharram month and said, “In this month, Muslim preachers and missionaries introduce people to the lifestyle of Lady Zainab and Imam Hussain (PBUT) and the way of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH).”

He stated that the beginning of Muharram marks the beginning of ten days of enjoining good and forbidding evil, which if done according to the Islamic instructions, it will be liked by Imam Mahdi (PBUH). He continued, “This religious duty does not belong to a specific group and is aimed at all people.”

Stating that one of the current threats is the influence of western style on Iranian women's hijab, he said, “Iranian women have stood up against western civilization and they are upset about this. Because the global arrogance has been claiming for 200 years that if women are not freed from restrictions, they cannot progress and reach high political, scientific, etc. positions, but Iranian women denied all these claims and serve as active members of the society.”

The Custodian of Lady Masuma shrine (PBUH) further added, "Iranian woman have appeared with Islamic hijab and have reached the highest levels, which nullifies the 200-year effort of the West. Therefore, it is not bearable for them and they are propagating against hijab. Therefore, it is necessary to take Jihad of explanation seriously.”

Pointing out that Islamic hijab does not create any restrictions on women's activities, and a woman with a hijab is highly respected in society as well, he concluded, “In our country, as an Islamic country, hijab is a necessity and a law, and like all the other rules, it must be followed”.
