Hawzah News Agency –The Holy Qur’an Institute in Najaf, affiliated to the Scientific Academy of the Holy Qur’an at the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine, presented a document of cooperation and joint work with the Middle Euphrates Technical University, with the aim of activating Qur’anic activities and events within the university corridors, and consolidating its culture among students.
A delegation from the Institute headed by its Director, Professor Muhannad al-Mayali, met with the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mohsen al-Majtoumi, where the two sides exchanged talks about a number of issues, which took place in the space of activating the implementation of Quranic programs, events and activities within the university corridors, and ways of joint scientific and cultural cooperation to implement it, which was adopted by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in most Iraqi universities and institutes, with the aim of creating a Quranic, intellectual and ideological atmosphere based on sound Islamic foundations, stemming from a deep understanding of the principles of the Noble Qur’an and its lofty goals.
The director of the institute told the Al-Kafeel Network, "Our visit to this university is part of a series of visits to a number of universities, in order to present a working document aimed at activating Quranic work within the university, thus contributing to the achievement of developing the skills of our youth and developing their Quranic knowledge on the religious and social levels."
He added, "We found a great response from the university presidency, and if the proposal is agreed upon, we will start implementing the terms of this agreement, as an integrated program has been prepared that includes several parts, the most important of which are: (Quranic seminars within colleges and departments, as well as holding seminars within internal departments, Quranic competition in memorization and recitation, the Quranic visual exhibition, the Quranic book competition, Quranic courses in correct reading and the rules of Tajweed, the development program for university professors)."
The assistant president of the university welcomed the proposal, and expressed his thanks and appreciation for the scientific initiatives presented by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, including the Quranic project in universities, and expressed his full cooperation to activate and make Quranic activity within the university.
