Hawzah News Agency - (Banbury - UK) - With help from a local security company the Banbury Mosque has installed walk-through fever detectors and hand sanitiser stations at its entrances in preparation for the re-opening of its mosque.

In line with the government easing lockdown and the re-opening of places of worship, they have installed walk through fever detectors and hand sanitiser stations.

A spokesperson for the mosque posted the following message on its Facebook page: "These systems will assist with the detection of those with a high temperature therefore protecting the health and wellbeing of our Masjid (Mosque) users."

The mosque paid for one of the fever detectors and hand sanitiser stations and a second one was donated by the Banbury-based security group, Westminster Group, a global solutions and security company.

Hamish Russell, the group's general manager, said: “As much as the Westminster Group is a global solutions and security company and have clients throughout the world we are still very much a Banbury company and proud of it.

"The Banbury Mosque’s work with the Community Fridge project providing essential food items for those in need is something really special, especially during this difficult time. Their outreach into the local community is inspiring.

"Westminster was delighted to help out in support of the Mosque and the Community Fridge project and supply them with a fever detection and Sanitizing Station.

"The equipment will provide a sense of comfort to the Mosque and Community Fridge that Covod-19 preventive measures are in place to protect all those who attend.”

The fever detector and hand sanitiser stations have been installed at the main entrances.

The mosque will have a phased opening, will be limiting the number of visitors to allow social distancing.

The mosque still awaits further guidance and clarity from the government for places of worship to re-open to the public.

The Banbury Mosque is among several organizations commended with a letter of gratitude from the Oxfordshire representative of the Queen's Office.
