A senior Egyptian scholar addressed the scores of religious figures present at the 30th International conference on Islamic unity in Tehran highlighting that Egypt’s strategy regarding Syrian government is in accordance with Iran’s policies saying, “Fighting Takfirism is a an Islamic obligation,”

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) – Kamal al-Halbhavi addressed scores of scholars attending the 30th International Islamic Unity Conference held in Tehran, Iran on Thursday December 15 saying, “When I see so many prominent scholars present here whose basis of unity is the holy book of Quran, I feel very hopeful to continue on this path of unity,”

 

He added, “Fortunately, the movement towards uniting the Islamic communities is on the right track and the Islamic Republic of Iran started out this journey; I hope Iran’s strategy on Islamic unity is properly promoted throughout the world,”

 

 “Today, Iran’s strategy regarding Syria is successfully progressing and the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, also approved of this strategy and is joining it; he has initiated talks with Syrian officials as well.” The Egyptian professor said.

 

Elsewhere in his remarks, al-Halbhavi asserted,”We hope that Egyptian academic centers including al-Azhar play a more active role in organizing such international conferences; It’s in our best interest to realize the Islamic communities’ full potential in order to reach a lasting unity,”

 

“We pray to Allah almighty to help us in the fight against Takfirism; since it is a truly Islamic obligation for us,” al-Halbhavi concluded.
