Hawzah News Agency- al-Sarraj issued the warning in an interview, saying the draft law's return to the government could be designed to delay its approval and prevent it from being passed.
Al-Sarraj said the PMF is one of the state's official security institutions, and that any attempt to weaken it or obstruct the legal organization of its status would negatively impact the coherence of Iraq's security structure and pave the way for disruption in relations among various security bodies.
He added that instead of returning the PMF draft law to paths that may prolong the legislative process, the project should be completed and sent to the Iraqi parliament for voting.
The political analyst also stressed the need to guarantee the legal, administrative and employment rights of the Mujahideen and to organize their status in line with the nature of the institution and its official duties.
Al-Sarraj stated that finalizing the law is an important step toward organizing the PMF's activities and consolidating the rights of its forces within the state's legal frameworks — free from delay, political disputes and foreign influence.
He concluded that delaying the passage of the PMF law is, in effect, a delay in realizing the rights of Mujahideen who have waited years for it.
