Hawzah News Agency- the Beirut Scholars Council stated that the Israeli enemy has committed horrific massacres against innocent civilians in southern Lebanon, including women and children, adding to its criminal record and aggressive nature — a nature that has not ceased from killing, destroying, and wiping out everything related to life, all before the eyes and ears of Lebanese officials.
The statement continued: "We in the Beirut Scholars Council condemn this cowardly criminal act and call on these officials to withdraw from what they call 'negotiations' and stand alongside their people who are being killed and whose cities and villages are being destroyed. If they truly possess the sovereign will they claim, let them abandon their silence in the face of the catastrophe unfolding before them and admit to their failure and illusory promises!"
"Have they delivered security and return to destroyed homes for the people? Has the daily bloodshed stopped, despite the fact that they have handed the enemy every conceivable and inconceivable demand as free concessions, to the point where this behavior has become a subject of ridicule and astonishment among many Arab and foreign institutions?" the statement read.
The council further declared: "We hold the authorities responsible for the catastrophic consequences that have resulted — due to their monopolization of direct negotiations with the enemy, their cowardly submission to foreign dictates, and their permitting of all forms of interference in our internal affairs. They have neither defended the land and sovereignty, nor have they even gone so far as to criminalize acts of resistance and prohibit the right to self-defense!"
The statement concluded: "We firmly believe that the option of resistance is the only path to liberating the land, preserving sovereignty, and safeguarding national dignity. These helpless officials must know that the blood of our people, our soil, our cities, and our villages are precious and dear. The people of resistance are honorable and proud individuals who will never accept humiliation and disgrace — and our history bears witness to this claim."
