Hawzah News Agency- Mohammad Reza Soughandi, speaking at the "Migrant of Truth" conference held at the Salman al-Farsi Mosque in Qom, declared: "Salman al-Farsi is among the most prominent figures in Islamic history. His character and conduct can serve as a timeless model for all human beings, particularly for officials and administrators."
The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Qom Province added that a proposal to designate the commemoration day of Salman al-Farsi as "Governor's Day" is being seriously pursued. He stated: "The personality of Salman al-Farsi is not merely a matter of historical record; his ethical attributes, managerial conduct, and profound loyalty to the principle of Guardianship (Wilayah) have transformed this great companion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) into a distinguished role model within Islamic culture."
He continued: "One of the most definitive characteristics of Salman al-Farsi was his simplicity of life and his rejection of lavishness—a trait clearly manifest throughout his tenure of responsibility and his entire social life."
Soughandi elaborated on the profound austerity of this senior official, stating: "When Salman al-Farsi held the governorship of Mada'in, it was decided to construct a house for him. However, his dwelling was so simple and small that when he stood up, his head would touch the ceiling, and when he rested, his feet would extend outside the confines of the home."
He added that this lifestyle epitomizes the spirit of asceticism, contentment, and the renunciation of worldliness required among the agents of an Islamic government. "In this context," Soughandi noted, "the conduct of Salman al-Farsi continues to serve as a source of inspiration for administrators today."
Pointing to another profound testament of Salman's detachment, Soughandi stated: "When a flood struck Mada'in, and the masses were scrambling to save their material possessions, Salman merely gathered his small bundle and moved to safety. On that occasion, he uttered a timeless phrase: 'This is how those carrying light burdens find deliverance.'"
In another segment of his address, the Director General referred to the ongoing production of the television series Salman al-Farsi. He confirmed that the series is in its final preparatory stages and is anticipated to be broadcast on Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) channels in the coming months. "Introducing the great personalities of Islamic history through artistic and media productions," he stated, "plays a pivotal role in acquainting the younger generation with authentic religious and historical role models."
Soughandi concluded by stressing that the life of Salman al-Farsi is replete with ethical, administrative, and doctrinal lessons. "A reexamination of the conduct of this towering figure can lay the groundwork for the promotion of a culture rooted in loyalty to Guardianship, unwavering responsibility, and simple living within society," he stated.
