Hawzah News Agency- Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Alawi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from his grandfather who narrated from al-Zubayr ibn Abi Bakr, who narrated from Ibrahim ibn Hamzah al-Zubayri, from Ibrahim ibn Ali al-Rafi’i, from his father, from his grandmother bint Abi Rafi’, who said:
أَتَتْ فَاطِمَهُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلّی الله علیه و آله بِابْنَیْهَا الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَیْنِ علیهما السّلام إِلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلّی الله علیه و آله فِی شَکْوَاهُ الَّذِی تُوُفِّیَ فِیهِ فَقَالَتْ یَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَانِ ابْنَاکَ فَوَرِّثْهُمَا شَیْئاً قَالَ أَمَّا الْحَسَنُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ هَیْبَتِی وَ سُؤْدُدِی وَ أَمَّا الْحُسَیْنُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ جُرْأَتِی وَ جُودِی.
Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh and his family), brought her two sons, [Imam] Hasan and [Imam] Husayn (pbut), to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh and his family) during the illness in which he passed away. She said: “O Messenger of Allah, these are your two sons, so leave them an inheritance.” He replied: “As for Hasan, he has my dignity and my nobility. And as for Husayn, he has my courage and my generosity.”
