Hawzah News Agency- Muhammad ibn Musa ibn al-Mutevakil narrated that Abdullah ibn Ja’far al-Homayry narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from Al-Hassan ibn Mahboob, from Malik ibn Atiye, from Abi Hamzih al-Sumaly that Imam Sajjad (pbuh) said:
لَا حَسَبَ لِقُرَشِيٍّ وَلَا لِعَرَبِيٍّ إِلَّا بِتَوَاضُعٍ، وَلَا كَرَمَ إِلَّا بِتَقْوَى، وَلَا عَمَلَ إِلَّا بِنِيَّةٍ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَنْ يَقْتَدِي بِسُنَّةِ إِمَامٍ وَلَا يَقْتَدِي بِأَعْمَالِهِ.
There is no nobility for a Qurayshite or an Arab except through humility; there is no true honor except through piety; and no deed has value except with intention.
Beware! The most detested of people to Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, is the one who claims to follow an Imam yet does not emulate his actions.
