Translation of Mulla Sadra’s Asfar Heralds a New Era of Iran-Turkey Intellectual Alliance

Head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, has described the translation of Mulla Sadra’s Asfar Arba‘ah into Turkish as a significant milestone in strengthening scientific and intellectual cooperation between Iran and Turkey.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the opening of the international conference “Reconstructing the Common Cultural Heritage of Iran and Turkey in the Light of Transcendent Wisdom” held in Qom, Haddad Adel said the event opens a new chapter in the centuries-old cultural and philosophical ties between the two nations.

He called the translation of Asfar a “blessed step” toward deeper engagement between the two countries’ academic and legal institutions and expressed hope that such initiatives would pave the way for long-term scholarly collaboration.

Presenting a paper titled “Kant’s Epistemology in the Absence of Existence,” Haddad Adel analyzed the limitations of Kant’s philosophy, arguing that by denying rational intuition, Kant built an epistemological system detached from “existence,” leading to contradictions in his understanding of phenomena and noumena.

He concluded that, unlike Western philosophy, Islamic wisdom considers “existence” as the foundation of knowledge and the bridge between the mind and external reality.
