Hawzah News Agency- at no point in the history of the Prophet's mission did the Noble Prophet (PBUH) or the religion of Islam taste the bitterness of true defeat. Martyrdom in the path of God and the purification of the ranks of believers are, in essence, the same victory that manifests itself in the eyes of those endowed with spiritual insight.
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said:
"In all wars, Muslims were victorious, even though all wars were unequal. Islam was never defeated, and Muslims were never defeated — even in the Battle of Uhud, where a number of Muslims were martyred. Nowhere was the Prophet of Islam defeated, and Muslims were never defeated, even in the case that outwardly resembled the Battle of Uhud."
"In all wars, God has aided His religion, even in the Battle of Uhud — though divine assistance is sometimes one hundred percent and sometimes less. It is not the case that assistance was absent, nor that Islam was defeated on any front. Every time Islam and Muslims went to the battlefield, they returned victorious — either with a more complete victory or a full victory."
