Hawzah News Agency- Addressing worshippers at the Fatima Husayniyya Grand Mosque in Najaf, Qabanchi said the Israeli regime, despite using the most advanced weaponry and enjoying full international backing, has been defeated and forced to accept a ceasefire.
He noted that the war on Gaza, now in its third year, has claimed the lives of over 60,000 Palestinians — the majority being women and children — with many still trapped under the rubble.
Outlining the terms of the agreement, Qabanchi said Israel will release 20,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for 27 Israeli captives held by Hamas, while Gaza’s reconstruction will also begin under the terms of the deal.
“The implementation of these provisions and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza demonstrate that the theory of resistance has prevailed over the theory of surrender,” he stated, emphasizing that the oppressed have ultimately triumphed over tyranny.
The senior cleric called for the international community to condemn Israel’s crimes and recognize Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a war criminal, stressing that the resistance’s steadfastness has once again proven to be the true path to dignity and victory.
