Hawzah News Agency- In a statement, Hamas clarified that it has not yet received any new initiative from mediators, but emphasized its readiness to review any proposal “positively and responsibly, and in a manner that safeguards the national rights of the Palestinian people.”
The movement also noted that negotiations on a ceasefire have been suspended since the recent assassination attempt against Hamas leaders in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Earlier, Reuters quoted a Hamas official as saying that the movement had not received the 21-point plan put forward by the United States concerning the war in Gaza. The official stressed that no concrete proposal had been presented to Hamas.
Meanwhile, the Zionist daily Haaretz claimed that Hamas had initially expressed willingness to release Israeli prisoners in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian detainees and a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza under the framework of Trump’s plan.
Trump told reporters on Friday: “It seems we have reached an agreement on Gaza,” without offering details regarding its content or timeline. The Israeli regime has not yet issued a public response to his remarks.
According to reports, Trump is scheduled to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. Steve Whittaker, the US special representative for the Middle East, also confirmed that Trump had recently presented a 21-point peace plan to leaders of several Muslim countries.
