AAM, ANIC urged Australian government to expel Israeli Ambassador, condemn Trump's Gaza plan

The Australian Alliance for Muslims (AAM) and the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) issued a joint statement urging the Australian government to stand against Donald Trump’s plan to seize Gaza and to expel the Israeli ambassador from Australia.

Hawzah News Agency- The Australian Alliance for Muslims (AAM) and the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) strongly condemned Donald Trump’s illegal plans to annex Gaza in a statement.

“Trump’s plan to expel 2 million Palestinians from their home and refuse their right to return is a direct call to ethnically cleanse Gaza. His abhorrent statements precede Netanyahu’s vow to breach the Gaza ceasefire agreement by continuing to bomb Palestinians. This threatens the existence of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and the millions displaced by Israel’s brutality and ongoing genocide,” the statement said.

It added, “Trump’s plans reflect the most recent example of the USA’s blind support of Israel, which for the past 76 years has carried out numerous human rights and international war violations against the Palestinians with no accountability.”

AAM and ANIC also urge the Australian government to:

  • Reject and condemn the statements made by President Trump and President Netanyahu
  • Uphold Australia’s obligation to international law and sanction Israel for its role in human rights violations (genocide and ethnic cleansing) in Gaza and The West Bank
  • Demand the ceasefire remain in place
  • Expel the Israeli Ambassador to Australia for his support in Israel’s war crimes and recall Australia’s ambassador to Israel
  • Immediately recognise the State of Palestine.
