Hawzah News Agency- Jamia Hamdard has signed an MOU with Noor International Microfilm Center in Iran Culture House in New Delhi on May 9, 2024. The MOU was signed by Dr. M.Sikandar, Registrar of Jamia Hamdard and Dr. Piri, Director of Noor Microfilm International Center in Iran Culture House in The Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi in the presence of honorable Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard Prof. Afshar Alam and His excellency Dr. Iraj Ilahi, honorable ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to India.

The program was also attended by Dr. Fridasr, Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of Iran Cultural House in New Delhi, Prof. Raisuddin, University Librarian in Jamia Hamdard, Mr. Akhtar, Controller of Examinations of Jamia Hamdard and other Jamia Hamdard Library Staff including Dr. Riyazuddin, Dy. Librarian, Ms. Nuzhat Ayyub Siddiqui Assistant Librarian Jamia Hamdard, Dr. Masood Raza Assistant Librarian and Mr. Tauhid Alam.

The main purpose of signing the MOU is digitization, preservation and conservation work of manuscripts and other documents of Persian, Urdu, and Arabic language at the Manuscript Section of Hakeem Mohammad Saeed Central Library, Jamia Hamdard.

During this program various other collaborative programs such as ‘Certificate Course in Persian’ and ‘Workshop on Persian Calligraphy’ were also discussed. This collaboration will enable presentation and digitization of over 3500 rare manuscripts archived in the Central Library of Jamia Hamdard. After their preservation and digitization these rare manuscripts will be placed on display so that students, faculty and interested public will get exposure of this heritage of Jamia Hamdard espoused by its Founder Late Hakeem Abdul Hameed.
