Hawzah News Agency- Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani had a meeting with Mahdi Tavakolian, head of the General Directorate for Public Libraries in Qom province on Monday, August 15 during which Grand Ayatollah appreciated the activities of the General Directorate of Public Libraries, while urging the development and promotion of reading culture in the society.

In this meeting, the Shia source of emulation also emphasized the use of active and caring librarians to boost efforts hoping to increase the satisfaction of public library members.

Shia scholar further mentioned the cooperation of Imam Sadiq Institute (PBUH) with public libraries as an example of a successful experience presenting the role of Islamic seminary and clergy in helping the development of reading culture among young people.

Hujjat al-Islam Alireza Sobhani, director of Imam Sadiq Institute (PBUH) also said in this meeting,” The librarians who worked in the library of Imam Sadiq Institute were active and caring librarians, and we hope that our successful cooperation with in the women’s department will be achieved at the men’s department in order to ensure the satisfaction of the members.”

It should be noted that the women department at the public library of Imam Sadiq Institute (PBUH) was opened in 2000 with the cooperation of the General Directorate of Public Libraries of Qom Province and Imam Sadiq Institute (PBUH) in a place with an area of 1000 meters.
