Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Saeedi had a meeting with Iraqi pilgrims in the hall of Imam Khamenei in Lady Masuma (PBUH) Holy Shrine during which he congratulated Imam Hadi’s birthday anniversary and said, "Praising the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), which serves as an act of revival of the Ahl al-Bayt teachings, is one of your honors."
Stating that all Muslims in their mission have a duty to neutralize the enemy's plot against the Ahl al-Bayt teachings (PBUT), Ayatollah Saeedi added, “One of the companions of Imam al-Sadiq (PBUH) asked him what duty we Shias have in socializing with non-Shia Muslims, and asked him for guidance.
The Custodian of the Lady Masuma (PBUH) holy shrine stated that Imam al-Sadiq's (PBUH) answer is not specific to Shia Muslims nor a specific time or social class; he added, “Imam al-Sadiq said that in order to interact with non-Shias, look at your imam and interact with them the way he interacts with them. You should behave in the same way, and then Imam al-Sadiq (PBUH) swore that we visit non-Shia patients, bury their bodies, appear in their courts and testify for or against them, and we will not betray their trust.
The Shia scholar further noted that Imam al-Sadiq (PBUH) emphasized peaceful and fraternal behavior with non-Shia Muslims in many other narrations, and said, “The statements of the imams are our policy and strategy in relation to Shia and non-Shia Muslims, and we should follow the words and practice of holy imams. It is time to act upon those guidelines.
Ayatollah Saeedi stated that Muslims who live in our era have not seen the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), rather they have heard about him from their fathers and forefathers, and they do not know about the incident of Ghadir Khumm, and added, “Islam adversaries favor such ignorance about the issue of Imamate and they misuse and start a fight between Shia and Sunni based on such ignorance; therefore, the most noble thing to do is for us to speak about Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and guide people towards them without bringing up anything that causes enmity.
The Shia scholar concluded by saying that Allah almighty said in the Holy Quran that you should not insult the sacred things of the infidels because they will dare to insult your sacred things because of their prejudice, adding, “Our main goal is that we want to be the foundation of the government of Imam al- Mahdi (PBUH) and for this We should be able to attract people's hearts towards Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT).
