Hawzah News Agency –The organizers of “Rihlat Muhajir” have stated that the first part of the initiative to chronicle the Prophet’s exodus path has been completed, despite challenges such as bumpy roads and the fact that certain historical locations’ names have changed over time.

This idea came into existence when they were pondering about how to commemorate the tale of the Prophet’s migration in the Jabal Thawr Cultural Center.

Samaya Investment, an organization that specializes in cultural projects such as national museums, exhibits, and events, strives to deepen and widen visitors’ experiences by collaborating with experts and scholars in the Prophet’s biography to open the Jabal Thawr Cultural Center in Makkah.

According to Samaya CEO Fawaz Al-Merhej, the “Muhajir” project utilised new technology in aerial documentation and mostly panoramic photography 360 while documenting the Prophet’s emigration trail in the first stage. However, during the second stage, it will be digitally documented via 4K drones based on the coordinates of the sites.

He further stated that when the first phase was launched in December 2021, the team sought all of the places mentioned on the road of the Prophet’s emigration, beginning with Cave Thawr on Mount Thawr in Makkah and continuing through 40 stations all the way to Quba Mosque in Madinah.

A number of scholars specialized in Islamic history and the Prophet’s biography helped in this investigation including Professors from the Department of History and Islamic Civilization at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Professors from the Department of History and Civilization at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, who are also members of the scientific committee of the Atlas Biography of the Prophet and Professor Abdullah bin Mustafa Al-Shanqiti, who is specialized in the landmarks of Madinah and the Prophet’s Biography, also participated in some stages of the project.
