ViQo Circle, Interreligious group of Qom-Vienna scholars

The ViQo Circle is a new group of interfaith scholars and professors, combined of Vienna Qom religious leaders gathering together to speak about happy and righteous life in the contemporary world.

Hawzah News Agency-Interreligious conference called “Living Justly today” was held in Vienna in cooperation with the Johannes-Messner-Gesellschaft, the Institut für Religion und Frieden of the Austrian Military Diocese, Al-Hikmah Institute of Al-Mustafa International University and the International Institute for Peace and Religions, based in Qom, Iran September 2016.

 The theme was the just ordering of human life and society from Catholic, Orthodox and Sh’ia perspectives. At the end of the conference it was decided to give participants, the name “ViQo Circle” short for “ViennaQom Circle.”                       

The ViQo Circle is a new group of interfaith scholars and professors, combined of Vienna Qom religious leaders gathering together to speak about happy and righteous life in the contemporary world. 

This topic was talked about from different angles: Theological, Political, Philosophical and ECONOMICAL                     

They also initiated a new website called “ViQo Circle" abbreviated from Qom and Vienna. You can refer to this new website in https://viqocircle.org/                       

The Vienna-Qom Circle for Catholic-Shi’a Dialogue on Religion, Philosophy and Political Theory (ViQo Circle) is a group of scholars founded by Sheikh Dr. Taher Amini Golestani of Al-Hikmah Institute of Al-Mustafa International University in Qom, Iran, and Dr. Christian Machek of Vienna, Austria. The circle brings together Christian and Muslim scholars to exchange ideas and develop friendships. Regular meetings take place every two years— the venue alternating between Iran and Europe.Hojjat al-Islam Savadi associate professor of Al-Mustafa University and Hojjat al-Islam Kashani Vice president of education in Hikmah institute had other expeditions from Qom in the conference.
