Hawzah News Agency- In a message released on Monday, the Leader said the news of Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani's demise had caused him deep sorrow, praising the late cleric for dedicating nearly his entire life to learning, teaching and research.

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
The sorrowful news of the passing of the eminent professor, the high-ranking jurist Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri (may God Almighty be pleased with him) has reached me. This great scholar spent all of his noble life — except for a few early years of childhood — on the path of learning, teaching and research, and was always regarded by his peers, contemporaries and teachers as a meticulous and profound researcher.
His mastery over the various disciplines related to the deduction of religious rulings was accompanied by precision and attention to the finest details. His classes, even when the number of attendees did not exceed a few, were recognized as gatherings of deep inquiry and meticulous study — and rightly so.
Praise be to God, over the past three decades, a large number of individuals had the opportunity to benefit from his invaluable presence to the extent of their capacity and to draw provisions for their own academic circles and teaching. His presence was one of giving and receiving, even when he would walk home after class. Beyond his undisputed scholarly standing, his humble and fatherly conduct toward seminary students and scholars was evident and instructive.
Undoubtedly, the loss of this distinguished figure has created a gap in the ranks of the foremost Shia researchers of the present age — a gap whose compensation may take a long time.
I offer my condolences on this tragedy to our Master (may God hasten his blessed reappearance), to the Islamic seminaries, and particularly to his students, admirers and especially his honorable, scholar-nurturing family. I beseech the Almighty God to elevate his ranks.
