Salawat: The Divine Multiplier of Mercy

Hawzah News Agency- Imam Sadiq(pbuh) said:

يَا إِسْحَاقَ بْنَ فَرُّوخَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَشْراً صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ مَلاَئِكَتُهُ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ وَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ مَلاَئِكَتُهُ أَلْفاً أَ مَا تَسْمَعُ قَوْلَ اَللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ «هُوَ اَلَّذِي يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكُمْ وَ مَلاٰئِكَتُهُ لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنَ اَلظُّلُمٰاتِ إِلَى اَلنُّورِ وَ كٰانَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيماً »

Whoever sends blessings (salawat) upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad ten times, Allah and His angels will bless him a hundred times. And whoever sends blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad a hundred times, Allah and His angels will bless him a thousand times.

Do you not hear the word of Allah, the Mighty and Glorious:

‘He it is who sends blessings upon you, and His angels too, that He may bring you forth from darkness into light; and He is ever Merciful to the believers.’(Al-Ahzab:43)
