Why We Fear Death?

Hawzah News Agency- Ja’far ibn Ali ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Abdullah ibn al-Muqayrih al-Kufy narrated that his grandfather Al-Hassan ibn Ali narrated from his great grandfather Abdullah ibn al-Muqayrih, from Al-Sakoony, from Imam Sadiq (pbuh) that his father Imam Baqir (pbuh) said:

أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله رجل فقال له: مالي لا احب الموت؟

- فقال له: ألك مال؟

قال: نعم

- قال: فقدمته؟

قال: لا

- قال: فمن ثم لا تحب الموت

A man came to the Prophet (pbuh) and said:
“O Messenger of Allah, why is it that I do not love death?”

The Prophet asked him: “Do you possess wealth?”
He replied: “Yes.”

The Prophet said: “Have you sent it ahead (for the Hereafter)?”
He replied: “No.”

The Prophet then said: “That is why you do not love death.
