Hawzah News Agency- Speaking about the history of resistance in Lebanon, he underlined the role of Imam Musa Sadr in empowering the Shia community through social, educational, and military initiatives, which transformed southern Lebanon from one of the most deprived regions into an advanced area with schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.
Fahas stressed that the resistance, rooted in the Ashura uprising, has not only secured military victories but also enabled displaced families to return to their homes after years of occupation. He drew a parallel between the liberation of southern Lebanon and the current struggle in Gaza, saying that Israel’s attempt to uproot populations has failed before and will fail again.
Rejecting calls to disarm Hezbollah, he stated: “The weapon of resistance is the inheritance of tens of thousands of martyrs and a guarantee of Lebanon’s security. Without it, there is no safeguard against Israel or Takfiri threats.”
He noted that while the United States and some Arab states still seek Hezbollah’s disarmament, recent regional developments have led many to reassess their stance, proving that Lebanon’s security is inseparable from its resistance.
Fahas concluded that resistance remains a dynamic strategy, ensuring the security of Lebanon and the broader region against Zionist projects.
