Hawzah News Agency- Sheikh Muhammed Hussein condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Zionist settlers and the Israeli regime’s closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque.
He said the holy city of al-Quds, Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, is facing the occupiers’ aggression.
The attacks and offensive acts against Al-Aqsa hurt the feelings of Muslims worldwide and are clear examples of Israeli attempts to undermine the mosque’s religious and historical status, he stated.
The officials of the Israeli regime are violating international laws and regulations and move based on a systemic plan to eliminate Arab and Islamic signs in Palestine, he deplored.
He said the international community should fulfil its moral and legal obligations regarding al-Quds and use all the means available to prevent the desecration of the holy city and put an end to attempts at Judaizing it and distorting its identity.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior cleric denounced the Zionist regime’s atrocities against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including the killing of innocent people, the siege, forced starvation, destruction of homes and infrastructure and displacement of millions of people, and censured the international silence on these crimes.
He added that the silence emboldens the Zionists to continue their crimes.
