Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Alireza Arafi made some remarks during his Nowruz meeting with Qom Governor Abbas Zakarian, which was held at the management office of the Iranian seminaries in Qom on Wednesday, March 27 saying,” Qom is regarded as a global city and a center of education for Islamic sciences.”

He pointed out that the context of urban planning and architecture in Qom should be designed with an Islamic approach and a view towards the holy shrine of Lady Masoumeh (peace be upon her) and the holy mosque of Jamkaran.

The head of Iran’s seminary said that a scientific movement should be started in this regard and stated,” During the Safavid period, a scientific genius was present in Isfahan, whose product is Islamic urban architecture.”

Pointing out that we must have a model arising from a scientific, technical and divine mind, he noted,” we must act in a deeper and more social way and in this direction, we can cooperate with city officials in introducing eminent and technical personalities of the seminary.”

Ayatollah Arafi stated that it is essential to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and students around the holy shrine, and clarified,” Qom has a valuable position in the world and can be more successful in the field of pilgrimage tourism.”

Pointing out that there are students from every country educating in Qom, Friday prayer Imam of Qom noted,” Unfortunately, there is no attention paid to this high position and potential for development in the city of Qom itself.”

The head of Iran’s seminary stated that if these facts are explained to the people, it will be a source of pride for them and said,” These facts form the identity of Qom.”
